Question:
My left shoulder used to dislocate frequently. I had the Bankart Procedure about 8 years ago and it's been good ever since.
Recently, I had a massage, and the masseuse gently massaged the scar to "loosen any scar tissue." I have been sore in that area for the three weeks since, and I feel a tendon click, or run over bone in a way that I didn't before. I am tremendously concerned that I have undone part of the operation. Could a light massage damage the area/the surgeon's work, or did the massage just make me overly-conscious of the area?

Answer:
A massage cannot hurt the repair after 8 years. It is unrelated but if it persists should be checked by your surgeon.
