I am having a distal clavicle resection and repair of other issues in my right shoulder on Jan 23, 2006I had a SLAP II repair 1-1/2 yrs ago but in the warm spring and live in CT, so winter weather is now here. I am 60 and live alone. Can anyone give me their list of helpful hints regarding clothing, hair care (mine is very long), bathing, opening jars etc. At least I now have safety bars in the tub/shower.While I have OA in my knee and hands, I do function very well and work full time in an operating room. MD told me I would be out 6 weeks. It's that first week that I remember horrendous frustration will trying to care for myself. Just backing the car out of my small garage was a challenge. But I anticipate with the bone resection, pain will be a major issue - pain pills = constipation, so any hints about this would also be appreciated.I'm new to this site and could not find a category for home care hints so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong forum. Thanks
