Hi folks. My name is Daniel. I am 28 and slipped on the ice with an extended arm. I had a bone spur on the acromion and a spur outside the acromion. I also had minor tearing of the labrium. 5 days ago I had open incision surgery and all was corrected with all debris removed. On day 7 I have an appointment with my ortho to test my range of motion. So here is my question...which I admit is scary to ask.

I can somewhat rotate my shoulder but is it normal that I cannot raise my arm under its own power even an inch after trying for 5 days??

Thing is, I have been riding horses all my life and it worries me. I hope this is relatively normal.

Thanks folks

-Daniel
