Fusion of the shoulder joint is a well known procedure in cases of flail shoulder in combination with normal motor and sensory function in the hand.

Hi, I had a glenohumeral arthrodesis done in 2005. I have had terrible neck problems ever since. In 2006 I had an osteotomy done to lower my arm. They lowered it all the way down to my body, but it is still too far forward which is causing neck problems. I am going to Boston in April to see if they can do another osteotomy. Have you had your shoulder fused already?

If shoulder fusion is successful how long till you can be physical and what are normal limitations after fusion? Would love some feedback on what others have accomplished physically (sports/recreation) after having it done.
