I have "at last" (after 14 months) had a diagnosis for my shoulder problem and it has taken a second opinion from another OS and a change of physiotherapist to notice I have a slouch in my right shoulder following a skiing fall, in 2008. The physio and consultant both say that this has been made worse by 2 OPs in close successsion (SAD and exc of clav. The OS has done a plain xray and come back with some underlying concern that because my shoulder is slouched forward it is causing impingement to my Corocoid area and also he has doubts that I have had enough removed from my clavicle when I have my previous surgery last year. There was also mention of ligament problems although this was not mentioned much. I am having 4 weeks of intensive (and very painful physio). How successful is physio alone with this problem and am I realistically looking at further surgery? They taped my shoulder and back up for 48hrs which helped for a couple of nights sleeping but no real improvement in much else. I cannot even do a single stroke of swimming and have no quality of life when it comes to using this arm for anything strenuous. Has anyone had this problem? Would be good to have some feedback or experiences of this now that I know what I am up against.
