I had surgery 10 days ago. The surgeon replaced the ball, but because of my "young" age of 58, he chose not to do a total shoulder replacement. This surgeon used every trick he knew to repair the totally torn rotator cuff. He wants the shoulder to be kept immobile for 3-4 months to give the rotator cuff the maximum chance to heal.
