Yes, the pain persist after surgery as well. Ask your doc to prescribe you more effective medication. You should be able to sleep well in order to recover well. Make sure you follow the guidelines provided by your doc, you will be able to recover well from the surgery. Good luck

I am a 55 year old female. I started having pain in my right shoulder October of 2014. Went to Doctor and then MRI and then specialist who diagnoised me with fronzen shouldler. Went for PT from November until the end of Feb. It seemed as if I hit a point when I was not making improvment. Stopped PT and did stretches etc at home. Went to accupunctue end of March and received AMAZING results. Seemed to be almost completely well by the end of April 2015.

Almost immeiately my left shoulder started hurting. The left has been 100 times worse than the right. Woke me up aprx every hour with pain. Slept on couch, recliner chair etc nothing seemed to help. PT did not help; Accupuncture did not help. I had surgery on August 4. The first 2 or 3 days I was in Heaven. Able to sleep, move arm etc. Then the pain block wore off and pain returned.

Pain is not as bad as it was before surgery. I am able to sleep in my bed. I take 1/2 pain pill before going to bed and I am able to sleep for about 2 hours; wake up; do some exercises on arm bike, more arm around and then can return to sleep for about 2 or 3 more hours until it wakes me again.

Before surgery I was in constant pain. Now I have pain when sleeping, if I am still too long or if I do my stretches.

Is it normal for pain to continue after having surgery? If so how long does the pain last? Does my situation seem normal?

This is a terrible condition. I hate taking pain pills! As I said I am on the lowest dosage possible and I only take 1/2 of one every 24 hours. But, I still hate it! I try to remember surgery was only about 6 weeks ago...just feel very frustrated.

Will the pain EVER end?
